Food photo savings calculator

Enter how many photos you publish a month and what a photographer charges for one finished photo. The calculator picks the RestoPhoto plan that fits and shows what you save.

13 a month is about 3 a week: posts, stories, your website and delivery apps.

From your own quote: the total price divided by the finished photos delivered.

The plan limit counts photos made, not photos kept. One in three is the default.

How it works

  1. 1

    Enter your photos

Type how many photos you publish in a month: posts, stories, your website and your delivery-app listings.

  2. 2

    Enter the photographer's price

Use the price per finished photo from your own quote: the total divided by the photos delivered. Or start from the median or the lowest price of the study.

  3. 3

    Read the saving

The calculator picks the smallest plan that covers the photos you make and shows the saving a month and a year.

What the calculator assumes

  • The plan limit counts photos made, not photos you keep. You set how many results you keep. The default is one in three, a harsh assumption on purpose.
  • Plan prices come from the pricing page when this page loads. Only monthly prices count, no tax is added, and the reels in each plan are not valued.
  • Your own time is counted apart: ten minutes for each photo you keep. The calculator shows the hourly value of your time at which the photographer would be cheaper.

FAQ

How does the calculator work out my saving?

It multiplies the photos you publish by the photographer's price per finished photo. Then it picks the smallest RestoPhoto plan that covers the photos you make and subtracts the plan price. The result is the saving a month. Times twelve is the saving a year.

Why does it count three photos made for every photo I keep?

A plan limit counts photos made, not photos you keep. We assume you keep one result in three. If you keep more, change the setting and the saving grows.

Where does the median price come from?

From the price lists of US food photographers, read on their own pages on 11 October 2026. The median of the 14 price lists that state a photo count is $28 per finished photo. The lowest is $12 and the highest is $127.

What if my photographer charges less than the median?

Enter your own price. The calculator shows the result as it is, including the case where the photographer costs less than the plan.

Does the calculator count my own time?

It counts ten minutes for each photo you keep and shows the hourly value of your time at which the photographer would be cheaper. It does not add that time to the saving.

Are the plan prices current?

The page reads the plan prices when it loads. If the catalogue does not answer, it uses the prices of 11 October 2026.
