Uber: merchant item and cover photo requirements

Prepare the crop before changing the size

Open the largest original file you have. Try the horizontal crop before reducing its dimensions. Keep the rim, crust and other edges that help someone understand the portion.

A vertical image can lose a large part of its top and bottom when cropped horizontally. Move the crop until the dish fits. If a required part remains outside the frame, return to a wider source image.

  1. Open the free delivery photo resizer and choose your file.
  2. Select Uber Eats and move the focus point to keep the dish inside the preview.
  3. Download the 1200 × 960 file and inspect it at full size.
  4. Check the file size and the preview in your merchant account.

Check detail after export

Look at the parts most likely to blur: rice, grated cheese, herbs and the edge of the plate. Then shrink the preview to the size of a menu tile. The guest should still recognize the dish.

The free photo checker can flag resolution, exposure and sharpness issues. Use its findings to choose what to inspect. The merchant platform decides whether an upload is accepted.

Upload the item photo in Uber Eats Manager

  1. Open Menu Maker in Uber Eats Manager.
  2. Choose the item from the Items tab.
  3. Add your image in the Photo section and save it for review.

Uber Eats: photo upload instructions

Keep the source, export and item name together. If you manage several locations, include the location in the filename. That makes later replacements easier to check.
